It is widely assumed that mp3 files are comparable in quality to CD audio. This may be true but only if the mp3 file was created at a reasonably high rate (at least 128 Kbps or above). As usual there is a trade off - the higher the quality the bigger the file and consequently the longer the download. The mp3 files on this site were made using 112 Kbps which produces reasonable quality & download times.

Be assured that the CD is of a far superior quality than even the mp3 downloads which are restricted by bandwith and server file limit size.

The RealPlayer files are of "telephone" reception quality but they are so small that they can be played as they download and thus give the user a quick result. It is recommended that you should listen to the RealPlayer files first.
